Memorial of God’s Deliverance
As human beings, we have a tendency to forget the great miracles God has performed on our behalf. The Israelites had come a long way and God performed great miracles and from time to time, they would forget the miracles. This is mainly because generations would come and go and there were poor reminders of God’s deliverance and provision. Joshua was keen to ensure that the generations to come will not forget the deeds of God.
In Joshua 4, he followed God’s instructions and called the Israelites to erect memorial stones as a reminder to their generations of God’s deliverance. In this study, we shall seek to understand the essence of keeping memories of the great deeds of God in our lives as a point of faith, so we can trust God for greater and greater works in the future. The “memorial stones” are reminders of God’s past faithfulness.
