Who we are

Our Belief

PCEA Sukari Parish under the Presbyterian Church of East Africa is part of the Holy Catholic church. The Church expresses the faith of the reformed Tradition. Central to this tradition is the affirmation of the sovereignty, holiness and providence of God. The Church is centered on worshipping God almighty, and believes in the Holy trinity. The church believes and confesses Jesus Christ who was eternal son, made man for our salvation, glorifying in His cross and resurrection and as the head of the Church. The Church also proclaims the forgiveness of sins and acceptance by God through faith in Christ and the gift of eternal life; laboring for the advancement of God throughout the world.

The worship services are therefore built around the scripture, singing, preaching and sacraments. Scripture is central to this service and often includes lessons from the Old and New Testaments. hymns and songs are interpretations of biblical texts and assist in giving shape and form to the service.

The order of worship follows a time bound liturgy. The services are demonstrated by what worshipers do together in prayer and praise; listening to and responding to God; proclaiming and confessing their faith (as contained in the Apostles’ Creed); thanksgiving and engaging in forms of self-offering.
