All Parish Groups, Committees, Institution and Districts are reminded that their Internal Benchmark Self-
evaluations are to be carried out in the Month of August 2026, in preparation for the upcoming Parish Self-
evaluations. The same should be completed at least one week before the Parish Self-Evaluations in September 2026, on a date to be communicated as appropriate.

Benchmarks evaluations at the parish level will be conducted on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at
8:00am to 12:oopm noon in the GWAV Hall.

The mission and Evangelism invite all the members to this years Nendeni week starting from 9th
September – 11th September from 7pm – 9pm. To culminate the week, we shall have an open-air
evangelism on Friday 11th

Thank you for taking the time to pray for the successful mission we had in Mosiro, Nkamuriak, in
August.
This month of September, we will be praying for the Bantu Somali people. According to the
Joshua Project, they are a group of black African communities whose ancestry is in Southern
Somalia, brought there as slaves. They are also referred to as the Jareerweyne. They face great
discrimination amongst Somali society, as they are considered second-class Somalis. Because of
the civil war in the 1990s, many fled to Kenya, where they have been living as refugees mainly in
Dadaab and Kakuma. They mainly live in southern Kenya and Somalia. Their main language is
Maay. They total about 120,000 people.
The major religion among them is Islam, with almost no Christians amongst them. They are Sunni
Muslims, but interestingly they have very little knowledge of Islam and mainly practice witchcraft
and spirit possession cults. Most of their younger generation are secularized.
Please take time to pray for them. Pray that the Lord will help them overcome the many traumas
they have endured over the years. Pray that the Lord will open their hearts and that believers will
build bridges of friendship to seek avenues of preaching the Gospel to them. Pray that resources
are made available to have the Bible translated into their language. Finally, the Lord will raise an
army of missionaries to preach to them the good news.
